Elon Musk already has a date to colonize Mars – Check

Elon Musk is a very ambitious topic with the goals of their companies and is not different with Spacex. The company is actively testing the world’s largest rocket, Starship, which aims to reach Mars in the long run. But whoever thinks that the plans for the red planet are vague, because the billionaire already has a date to start colonization.

The confidence with the future of his space exploration company has caused Musk to reveal the year that he intends to put the first colony and humans on Mars: 2054. The revelation was made in X (former Twitter), the social network (literally) by the owner of Spacex.

The deadline seems to be long, but considering the lenses of space advances in recent years are quite daring. Musk takes into account that over the next 30 years, Spacex will have already developed a self -sufficient colony on the red planet with a capacity of more than one million people.

But this is the date of the human terms that live there. The deadline to reach, according to Musk, is much sooner. The billionaire intends to use Spacex to launch astronauts to our neighbor in 2030.

From this, the construction of the totally self -sufficient base would begin, which would have plantations, greenhouses and all the equipment needed for the survival of humans. This would take about 20 years to complete.

Starship: Our means of transport to Mars

As we mentioned, the center of all this Spacex plane to reach Mars is Starship. Therefore, the tests that are being done today are extremely important for the future of the company in space exploration.

The next step is to make the first orbital flight with the ship by 2026. This is essential as the star nave goes to the Moon to Artemis 3 (which is scheduled for the end of 2026, but the term is considered unrealistic).

But to colonize Mars, Musk intends to create a large -scale Starship production, with a fleet of up to a thousand ships that will be released during the transfer windows every 26 months, when Mars and Earth are closer.

That is, Spacex has a lot of work in the coming decades.
