The cold wave that has exceeded temperatures in various regions of Brazil has its numbered days. The polar air mass began to give signs of weakening and the thermometers should increase in the coming days.

In place, the rain will come. The areas of atmospheric instability should cause intense precipitation in the cities of the south, southeast and a half. The rain must be accompanied by rays, gusts of wind and even the timely possibility of hail in some areas.

Prepare -s for the rain

  • According to the National Institute of Meteorology (IMMET), temperatures should begin to increase gradually from this Thursday (26) to the south -in the middle west.
  • The south of the country, however, should remain under the influence of cold air until Friday (27).
  • With the displacement of the polar air, a warmer mass of air is started inside the continent.
  • This phenomenon promotes the formation of a low pressure zone.
  • According to meteorologists, this combination will generate areas of instability.

Bad weather can cause damage

The forecast states that the rains will arrive in the southern region of the country on Thursday. The areas of atmospheric instability should cause intense rainfall in the center, in the north -west and north of Rio Grande do Sul, including the Gran Porto Alegre, as well as Santa Catarina and Paraná.

There are warnings for potential damage caused by bad weather. This is due to the fact that these rains can be accompanied by rays, wind gusts and the possibility of timely hail, with volumes between 30 and 70 mm in some locations in these states.

On Friday, the instability focuses on the west and southern center of Mato Grosso do Sul, South Strip and the East Cost of São Paulo, Paraná and North Santa Catarina. In these areas, the expected volumes should vary between 20 and 60 mm.

On Saturday (28), instability is retired to Paraná, Santa Catarina and Center-North Gaucho, and can reach between 40 and 80 mm, with the possibility of even larger volumes in Rio Grande do Sul. In other regions of the country, time is still stable and sunny in the coming days.
